Further Connections

There has been a lot of change in the world, specifically the Middle East. For example, the uprising in Egypt and other revolutions are a great impact on our society. This also relates to Animal Farm. The rebellious animals portray the strength and determination they had to kick the human out of their territory, to establish a live of their own. All they want is happiness and equality.

In Egypt, before the Hosni Mubarack reigned, he enacted the Emergency Law. This states that it:
Is a governmental declaration that may suspend some normal functions of the executive, legislative and judicial powers, alert citizens to change their normal behaviors, or order government agencies to implement emergency preparedness plans
This perpetuates the idea that because Mubarack is an important person in Egypt, he assumes that he is powerful and allowed to do whatever he wishes. Mubarack does not understand the fact that his choices also impact the citizens of Egypt. But, the citizens abide by the laws because they fear the actions they may encounter if they do not (death, threats, jail, etc.) In similarity, in Animal Farm, the “lower animals” were also in a common struggle. After they overthrown the unfair human, the rebellious pigs came along and made it worse. The disrespect and unfair roles each animal had to follow we forced by the pigs. In similarity to Mubarack, the animals didn’t understand they fact that their actions may backfire upon them. The do not understand that there are more “lower animals” then each other (the pigs). The negativity and disrespect will soon wreak the respect and fear the inferior animals show. All in all, an individual who are considered as leaders, need to understand that their actions and words are important to the people who are obligated to follow them

Another example that exhibits the connection between Animal Farm and the revolutions are the choices the Egyptian residents decided:
“The Islamic group, one of the most organized opposition movement’s in Egypt, said they have no intention of implementing, or attempting to implement, an Iranian style revolution in the country. They prefer democracy and elections.”
This demonstrates that organizational skills and the ability to connect with the Egyptian civilians at the same time take a lot of trust and patience. This is because the amount of days the people starved, fought, and left their families creates stress and instability. So, having someone to communicate with and maintaining a positive stance will soon accomplish their needs. In Animal Farm, the ability to set a constitution that every animal agrees with is one of the significant events. This is because, establishing a laws all people have to follow usually turn into protests. People do not be fond when an individual obligates someone to do something they do not want to do. When everyone is endearing in a common purposes, success will soon be accomplished.
